On 15th June 2012, the Sahiwal board of intermediate and secondary education was established. The higher education department of Punjab formed the BISE Sahiwal and since its establishment, the board is offering the services at the matriculation and intermediate level. Prior to the establishment of the board, the BISE Multan was facilitating the Sahiwal and Pakpattan while the Okara district was under the administrative power of BISE Lahore. Now the jurisdiction of the Sahiwal board includes the Okara district, Sahiwal district, and Vehari district. The controlling body of the Sahiwal board of intermediate and secondary education is the government of Punjab. Being an autonomous body it has the Chairman, Secretary Controller of Examinations, Audit Officer, and other members that deal with the examination matters.
